Anatomy of a Professional Specialty Moving Project

Working with Bangor Public Library has been one of the most rewarding commercial moving projects we’ve ever executed in Maine. The move was to accommodate a renovation at the library and virtually everything had to be relocated temporarily.

Planning a move

Our professional moving crew worked diligently for weeks planning and preparing for this week-long moving project.  Measurements were taken of each of the 300+ pieces so we could prepare custom crates to house the valuable art and furnishings. We visited the site several times to carefully inventory and catalog each item.

Moving days

We carefully packed and moved all sorts of treasures, from paintings of famous people and events from the Bangor region, to exquisite marble and bronze sculpture, to the handmade model wooden airplane. All of these items have tremendous historic and cultural significance in addition to their monetary value.

Chronicling this historic move

Hundreds of photos were taken during the project, some of which we’ve shared here in our Feature Project Portfolio, above.  Our team on site—TJ, Tony and Ray—all did an excellent job handling, packing and loading each piece.  Their work and collaboration was seamless and I personally marveled at the way they made this complex moving project job look effortless! We accomplished the job on time and without a single concern or potential issue.

We want to share our profound thanks and gratitude with Bangor Public Library for the opportunity to collaborate with them for a project of this magnitude. It was important to us on every level and we are grateful for the trust placed in Fox & Ginn Movers. Special thanks to Barbara McDade and Lisa Frazell who both gave me a lot of their time. Everyone was accommodating and helpful throughout the project.

Bangor Public Library testimonial

Some of the best measures of our success are the testimonials offered by our customers about their positive experiences working with us. We are really proud that the experience for Bangor Public Library was so pleased that they wanted to be part of our radio advertising. Just take a listen!

"We’re in the middle of a massive interior renovation, and with over three hundred pieces of art that are priceless, we didn’t want to have anything happen to them during this process. So we reached out to Fox & Ginn and they were phenomenal. They came over. They measured everything. They took very good care of the individual pieces. They were respectful, punctual, and their entire crew was very professional with handling the art.

They built custom crates for a lot of the priceless pieces. They even took Hannibal Hamlin’s couch and our little gargoyle that’s found on the second floor, and they’re housing them for the duration of the interior redesign for us. Not only did they come and take everything down off the walls - package it, crate it, bubble wrap it - they’ve definitely gone above and beyond our expectations. My advice to any other company that’s undergoing any size project is to reach out to Fox & Ginn Movers."
